I picked up a new assessment activity from The Art of Education. This website is such a great resource to me and I love their downloadable ebooks. I recently downloaded the one on assessment and another on how to build your art curriculum. GREAT stuff!! http://www.theartofed.com/ebooks/
How to begin: have each student place 3 blank sticky notes by their art. Students were asked to walk around the room and write 3 compliments on 3 different pieces of art. Before we started, we went over how to write a specific, positive compliment. It took about 10-15 minutes and students at the end were given time to read their favorite compliment. It was a great way to incorporate literacy in art as well!
This activity was such a success!!!
