Clay 'I Love You' Hands

For Mother's day this year the 1st graders and Kindergarteners created ceramic hands.  We traced the students hands onto clay, cut it out and bent the middle and ring fingers down to make the sign language  "I Love You" sign.

After firing, the students painted them with sparkly watercolors and wrapped to take home!  They ended up being pretty fragile (especially with those little fingers) so if I did them again I might roll the clay out a tad thicker.
