Dr. Seuss fish wrap-up

We finished our painted fish inspired by Dr. Seuss's One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish book.  They turned out very fun and cute!  We pretended we were race car drivers while we were cutting out our fish.  We discussed how when you are driving you have to go slow around the curves to stay on the 'road'.  This helped the students cut accurately.  We had very few fins or tails cut off in the process!  A definite success! Here's a few pictures of finished works.

After the students finished gluing and outline their fish with cray-pas, I had them make a fish bowl out of paper.  They had to cut the bowls out (after tracing with a template) and decorate what you might find inside a fish tank.  Some had castles and sand, pretty rocks, and other goodies.  Then I gave them a small piece of Crayola Model Magic which they molded into a fish and colored with markers.  The fish were glued on with white glue.  Very cute, quick and fun!
